In 2005, Alexander Sarychev graduated from the School of Management at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (Moscow), with a degree in Management of Organizations.
In 2003, he started work in the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, up to 2005 holding the position of specialist of the 1st category at the Department of Territorial Development. He oversaw coordinating work with Russian regions, participated in developing long-term regional programs of socio-economic cooperation with the Republic of Korea. While working there, he was awarded the qualification category “Secretary of the State Service of the Russian Federation of the 1st Class”.
From 2005 to 2009, Dr. Sarychev worked in EUROCEMENT Group, the biggest Russian producer of building materials, where he was engaged in strategic analysis, market research, industry and competitive analysis, assessment of the company’s internal environment, participated in designing the holding’s development strategy. His latest position at the organization was Deputy Head of the Marketing Department.
From 2009 to 2021, Alexander worked in KARAKAN INVEST Group (coal industry) as Director of Economics, Director of Marketing, was a member of the Board of Directors. He supervised all the analytical work of the group related to industry analysis, analysis of socio-economic and other macro factors of the external environment, market monitoring and market research, internal analysis, participated in designing the group’s development strategy and implementing anti-crisis programs; he also supervised educational projects.
From 2022 to the present, Dr. Sarychev has been Director of the corporate university of the Novostal-M metallurgical holding, responsible for the implementation of joint programs with Russian universities for training of young specialists and internal training of employees.
In 2009, Alexander Sarychev defended his Ph.D. thesis in economics (08.00.05, economics and management of the national economy (economics, organization and management of enterprises, industries, complexes — industry)). The topic of the dissertation is “Improving the methods of internal strategic analysis of companies in medium— and low-tech industries (the case of the cement industry).”
Dr. Sarychev is the author of over 10 scientific publications, including participation in two monographs.
