MGIMO Receives 5 QS Stars

17 November 2017

In recognition of its remarkable international education and research, MGIMO has been awarded «5 Stars» in the QS Stars Audit, thus becoming the first university in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and amongst BRICS countries to be bestowed with this accolade.

The QS Stars Audit, implemented by Quacquarelli Symonds International Rankings is a comprehensive survey conducted over the course of 2017. The University has been assessed in eight different key areas: Research, Teaching, Internationalization, Specialist Programme, Employability, Facilities, Arts and Culture, and Inclusiveness.

The eight key areas of assessment are themselves split into a number of subgroups, which themselves consist of more than 50 indicators. This detailed breakdown provides prospective students and employers with a detailed look at an institution, while the total star result reflects a university’s international standing.

According to the agency, MGIMO performed impressively well in its relationship with employers and in the employment rate of graduates, for which the University scored the maximum possible number of points. In all only 62 universities worldwide have been awarded five QS stars, including Harvard, Oxford, Yale, Princeton and Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University.
