Sidorenko Elina Leonidovna is a graduate of Stavropol State University (now — North-Caucasus Federal University) 2001.

In 2002 she successfully defended her thesis on the topic: «The negative behavior of the victim as a circumstance affecting the differentiation of responsibility and the individualization of the punishment of the subject of the crime».

In 2004 Sidorenko E.L. received the academic title of associate professor in the department of criminal law of Stavropol State University.

In 2013, she successfully defended her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Laws in the specialty 12.00.08 — criminal law and criminology; penal law on the topic: «Discretion as a regime of criminal law regulation».

From November 2013 to the present, Sidorenko E.L. is a professor in the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Director of the Center for Digital Economics and Financial Innovations of the MGIMO.

Sidorenko E.L. teaches on the following legal courses: Criminal law of Russia and foreign countries; Responsibility for violations in the financial sphere; Basics of International Criminal Law; Legal framework for the regulation of new financial technologies.

From September 2002 to August 2007 she is an associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law in Stavropol State University. From September 2007 to February 2013 she is an associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the Russian Law Academy of the Ministry of Justice of Russia. From February 2013 to November 2013 she is an associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of the MGIMO.

Sidorenko E.L. is the author of more than 250 scientific and educational works, including 18 monographs and 8 textbooks.

Research interests: anti-corruption policy, digital economy and digital finance, international cooperation in the field of combating corruption, conflict of interest, financial crime and financial security, protection of victims from crime, protection of life and health of the individual.

Sidorenko E.L. is actively engaged in expert activities. She is the General Director of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Platform for Working with Entrepreneurs' Appeals" created on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, GRECO expert of the fifth round of assessment, head of the working group of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on assessing the risks of cryptocurrency turnover, member of the expert council of the Presidential Administration on countering corruption, a member of the Commission on Compliance with the Requirements for Official Behavior of Persons Filling the Positions of the Federal State Service in the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, a member of the Expert Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, etc.

Sidorenko E.L. takes an active part in the work of international organizations: is an expert of GRECO and OSCE, participates in the Russian delegation in the meetings of the Anti-Corruption Working Group and the OECD Digital Economy Committee, the activities of the OECD Anti-Corruption Network to implement the Istanbul Action Plan, the UN Convention against Corruption and the work of the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption, the activities of the Office of the Coordinator of OSCE Economic Activities OSCE and the environment, etc.

Expert activity Sidorenko E.L. awarded with an honorary diploma of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for high achievements in work, significant personal contribution to educational, scientific and cultural and educational activities in training personnel for the Russian diplomatic service, as well as a letter of thanks by the head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation on anti-corruption, O.A. Plohoy.
