Dual MA Students of School of Governance and Politics Receive Grants to Study in South Korea

March 3rd, a cooperation agreement with the “Digital Economy League” was signed during a solemn ceremony at MGIMO. As part of the agreement, the company will grant 1 million Rubles a year to each student enrolled in the dual program run jointly by the School of Governance and Politics and the South Korean Yonsei University.

MGIMO’s Rector Anatoly Torkunov and the president and founder of the Digital Economy League Sergy Shilov signed the agreement providing for cooperation in executing a Dual Master's Degree program "Smart City Management" of the School of Governance and Politics in conjunction with a highly ranked Korean university.

The program’s key partner is the New Cities Foundation, which brings together a global network of public and private sector leaders and Urban Tech innovators such as Google, Cisco, Toyota and others. The goal of the program, which is in the top 10 most promising graduate-level courses in Russia, is to train top-notch specialists equipped with unique competencies in the field of architecture design and smart city management.

The Digital Economy League is a group of companies whose main activities lie in IT consulting and digital transformation of some the largest organizations in the country. It boasts the best teams of experts that have established themselves in the most complex technological projects of well-known companies in Russia and the CIS. Under the leadership of Sergey Shilov Digital Economy League has emerged as one of the national champions in the market of IT and consulting services for the state, telecommunications, financial and other sectors.

The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs Andrey Baykov, the Head of the International Office Egor Andreev, the Dean of the School of Governance and Politics Henry Sardaryan, the Deputy Dean of the School of Governance and Politics for International Collaborations Sergey Komarov and the Chair of the Public Administration Department Sergey Kamolov.

After the ceremony Sergey Shilov took some questions from the students and wished them the best of luck for the future.
