The Primakov Readings international forum of experts, diplomats and decision-makers began its work on June 10th at the World Trade Center. It is the fifth time the forum convenes and this year marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Yevgeny Maksimovich Primakov. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his best wishes to the participants of the event.

The President’s Aide and Head of the Organizing Committee Yuri Ushakov, the President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin and the President of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Academician Alexander Dynkin took part in the opening ceremony.

MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov moderated the plenary session «Asia-Pacific: Prospects for Growth and Rise of Contradictions». Yang Cheng, Professor of the School of International Relations and Public Affairs at Shanghai International Studies University, Robert Daly, Director of the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Vasily Mikheev, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of IMEMO, Head of the Center for Asia Pacific Studies and Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nobuo Shimotomai Professor at the Faculty of Law and Politics of Hosei University, Tokyo, Hwang Jaeho Director of the Global Security Cooperation Center at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul and Alexander Panov, Head of the Department of Diplomacy at MGIMO University were all speakers at the event.
