On September 26, MGIMO hosted a delegation of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), headed by its Rector, Roberto de Andrade Medronho. The guests were welcomed by the Rector of MGIMO University, Anatoly Torkunov, and the Dean of the School of International Business and Business Administration, Vladimir Shapovalov.
During the visit, the Rector of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) was accompanied by the Secretary General of the University Hélio de Mattos Alves, Superintendent of International Relations Papa Matar Ndiaye, as well as Professor Fabio Krykhtine.
A wide range of issues and formats of cooperation between the universities were discussed at the meeting. The parties expressed their intention to develop mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in order to strengthen the partnership between our universities and countries, which is particularly relevant against the backdrop of a dynamically developing architecture of relations between the BRICS countries in general, and Russian-Brazilian relations in particular.
An updated memorandum of cooperation between the two universities is going to be agreed on in the near future. The first stage provides for internships for undergraduate and graduate students, joint conferences and publications in academic journals.
