January 17th, MGIMO held a meeting for BA and Master students interested in applying for a placement within the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The event was kicked-off by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov, who explained that an internship within the Russian Foreign Ministry not only enables students to acquire new knowledge and practice new skills, but gives them some insight into what it means to choose a career as a diplomat. The Vice-Rector also noted that the opportunity offered to students to do work experience abroad within the framework of the Foreign Ministry is the fruit of a unique partnership between MGIMO, the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and the Russian Foreign Ministry.
In following, representatives of the Human Resources Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry made a presentation about how to apply for a placement and what to expect once on the workplace. They took questions from the audience and gave detailed explanations.
In Spring 2017 alone, nearly 200 students will do an internship within the Russian Foreign Ministry (70 of them abroad).
