January 30th to February 5th, MGIMO’s choir Proxenos travelled to Belgium to give a performance in the hall of the Russian Cultural Centre in Brussels. The audience greeted with much enthusiasm the young singers and remarked upon their virtuosity and rich musical repertoire.
During their tour of Belgium, the students also performed in St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Ghent and in St. Andrew’s Church in Antwerp. The musicians attending the event noted that the level of the choir was outstanding for a group of non-professional singers.
The choir’s performance was a prelude to the festivities of Diplomatic Worker’s Day in Belgium but also opened the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Peter I visit to Belgium territory.
