Delegation of Hungarian National University of Public Service at MGIMO

May 31st, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov had a meeting with representatives of the National University of Public Service of Hungary.

The visiting delegation was headed by the Rector of the Hungarian University of Public Service, Andras Patyi, who served as Chairman of the National Election Committee and Chief Counselor at the Constitutional Court. The delegation also comprised the Vice-Rector and Dean of the faculty of Science of Public Governance and Administration Norbert Kis, the International Affairs Officer Gabriela Antal as well as the Attache for Science and Technology at the Hungarian Embassy in Russia Arnold Acs. The Russian side was also represented by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov and the Director of the Center for Comprehensive Chinese Studies and Regional Projects Alexey Voskresensky.

Anatoly Torkunov welcomed the guests and spoke about the history of MGIMO, the specificities of its educational process, the emphasis put on international cooperation, the compliance with international educational standards, and the University’s main research projects. The Rector emphasized the advantages of cooperation between MGIMO and the Hungarian University of Public Service, which started with a memorandum, signed in December 2017. Andras Patyi described the structure and educational programs of the Hungarian University of Public Service as well as its priorities for future development.

The meeting was followed by a workshop during which the management and faculty members of both universities mulled over the different ways of expanding cooperation through exchange programs and the implementation of joint scientific events and research initiatives.
