May 17th, while Russian President Vladimir Putin was having a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni; MGIMO, Rosneft and the Polytechnic University of Turin concluded an Agreement on Cooperation in the fields of Education and Science.
The official document was signed by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov, the CEO of Rosneft Igor Sechin and the Rector of Polytechnic University of Turin Marco Gilli. Valery Salygin, the Director of MGIMO’s International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy (MIEP) also participated in the ceremony.
The agreement constitutes a framework within which the parties can deepen their cooperation in many spheres: implement dual programs, perform joint research and launch innovative projects.
With education and science playing an increasingly important role in the development of the oil and gas industry, Rosneft has shown a growing interest in developing training programs for its staff within the world’s best universities, in carrying out joint research activities, and in improving its consultancy services with the assistance MGIMO and MIEP experts.
