On December 8th, the MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain Marcos Gómez Martínez.
His Excellency visited MGIMO University for the first time. The parties discussed academic mobility cooperation, exchange programs with MGIMO partner universities, research activities, as well as cultural, creative and international aspects of interaction between the two countries.
Mr Torkunov told the guest about MGIMO’s longstanding partnership with Spanish universities and institutions. MGIMO University has cooperation agreements with the University of Castile-La Mancha (Albacete), the University of Valencia, the Comillas Foundation of Spanish language and culture, the University of Barcelona, Marbella International University Center, IE Business school, and many others.
Today, over 800 MGIMO students study Spanish at Bachelor and Master degree programs as their first, second or third foreign language, with Master degree students annually having their internships at the Russian Embassy in Madrid.
