June 3rd, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov greeted a delegation from the French political party Les Républicains at MGIMO.
The delegation comprised the representative of the Republican Party in Russia and Belarus, Alexis Tarrade, the Vice-President of the senatorial group on cooperation between Russia and France, Senator Christophe-Andre Frassa and the Municipal Councillor of Paris, also National Secretary of the Republican working group for relations with foreign parties, Jean-Didier Berthault.
The guests were greeted by the Rector Anatoly Torkunov, who underlined the importance of developing bilateral relations through initiatives such as the Russian-French civil societies forum «The Trianon Dialogue». The Rector also spoke about different promising areas for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. Also attending the meeting were the University’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs Artem Malgin, the Head of the French Language Department Mikhail Ogorodov and the Rector’s Assistant Maria Ryabova.
The visiting delegation also met with students of the University, representatives of the French Club and the French fraternity. The sides discussed the ways to maintain and develop a productive dialogue between the two countries in times of international tensions.
