May 15th, on the website of the MGIMO Business School, the Head of the European Commission's Sports Department Yves Le Lostecque gave a lecture to MGIMO students. The event was organized with the support of the Russian Union of Martial Arts and the MA program in “Sports Diplomacy”.
Yves Le Lostecque described the different working directions of European Commission in the field of sports and the ways projects are carried out in his department.
During the lecture, students found out about how the European Commission works on sport related issues, about some major multi-sports projects rolled out over the years and about how the Commission interacts with large international organizations.
The event was open to anyone interested in the subject and counted as participants not only students of the MA in "Sports Diplomacy" and other MGIMO departments but also representatives of the sports community. Everyone could put their questions to the speaker and contribute to the discussion on the future of European sports.
The sides decided to resume the dialogue between the European Commission and MGIMO’s School of Business and International Proficiency and to implement joint sports related projects.
