MGIMO, KSTU and the Non-Commercial Partnership for Mining Industry Development Assistance Sign Cooperation Agreement

October 6th, as the fourth Forum of MGIMO Alumni was unfolding in Astana, a collaboration agreement was adopted by MGIMO, Karaganda State Technical University (KSTU) and the Non-Commercial Partnership for Mining Industry Development Assistance.

The official document was signed by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov, the Rector of KSTU Marat Ibatov and the Chairman of the Non-Commercial Partnership for Mining Industry Development Assistance, Georgy Krasniansky. The parties agreed to coordinate their activities within the inter-university educational center responsible for the training of experts in mining, energy diplomacy, business, finance and international law.

The sides also mulled over the possibility of performing joint research and implementing dual degrees dedicated to the study of international activities related to the sphere of minerals and raw materials. In order to ensure an efficient implementation of these projects, the participants to the meeting decided to create a working group in charge of coordinating cooperation.

Karaganda State Technical University, founded in 1953, is one of the most prestigious universities in Kazakhstan, which teaches technical and humanitarian subjects.
