MGIMO Delegation in Italy

October 23rd-24th, a delegation from MGIMO went to Rome to discuss cooperation in education with partner-universities and government representatives. MGIMO University was represented by Mikhail Troitsky, Director of the School of Government and International Affairs, Henry Sardaryan, Dean of the School of Government and Politics and members of the faculty.

October 23rd, the guests met with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics of La Sapienza University Fabrizio D’Ascenzo. The sides spoke about the dual master’s program in Management, which has been running since 2016 and considered the opportunity of implementing other joint projects.

On the same day, Henry Sardaryan had a meeting with senators at the Italian Parliament. Former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi shared his plans to visit Russia and give a talk to MGIMO students. Henry Sardaryan spoke about the different partnerships the School of Government and Politics has with Italian universities, and about the plans to launch new dual degree programs.

During a meeting with Pier Ferdinando Casini, Chairman of the Italian Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, the sides mulled over the expert community’s analysis of bilateral relations.

October 24th, Henry Sardaryan and Mikhail Troitsky participated in a seminar on Russian-Italian relations and the European Union. Talks were also held with professors of LUISS University on the opportunity to expand cooperation between the two universities, and to create a joint master’s program in «Political Science».
