MGIMO Delegation Goes to Istanbul

3 March 2020

February 28th-29th, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources V.Morozov and the Deputy Dean of the School of International Relations A.Dundich went on a business trip to Istanbul, where they met with representatives of Bosphorus University.

On the 28th, V.Morozov and A.Dundich were received by the Vice-Rector for International Relations of Bosphorus University, Necati Aras. During the meeting, the parties discussed the ways to develop the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed in July 2019 by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs A. Baykov and the Rector of Bosphorus University M.Ozkan. Some of the most promising spheres for cooperation identified by the meeting participants were the creation of a joint specialization within the English-language MA program "Governance and Global Affairs", performing joint research and organizing language placements for students.

Bosphorus State University is one of the most famous universities in Turkey, which was established as Robert College in 1863 (the first American university abroad) in a beautiful place in the city on the banks of the Bosphorus. The old campus still has the appearance of an American university. Currently there are 13 thousand students enrolled at the university and all graduate programs are taught in English.
