May 24th, in Krasnodar, President Putin spoke to activists of the main Russian volunteer associations. Members of MGIMO’s Volunteer Centre for 2018 World Cup attended the event.
On the same day, a meeting of the Presidential Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport and an interview with FIFA President Gianni Infantino took place in Krasnodar. Before the meeting, Vladimir Putin visited the football stadium in Krasnodar and exchanged ideas with young footballers and volunteers.
MGIMO’s Volunteer Centre was represented at the event by third year student, Eleni Pratikaki. During the meeting, the participants described the measures taken in preparation of the Confederations Cup FIFA 2017 and the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia and underlined the outstanding contribution of volunteers.
The volunteers arrived in Krasnodar on the 23rd to participate in a football lesson aimed at increasing children and students’ interest in upcoming events.
