Head of Moscow German Academic Exchange Service at MGIMO

September 28th, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs Andrey Baykov had a meeting with the Head of the Moscow Regional Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Andreas Hoechen, to discuss cooperation in education.

Today, 1200 students of the University study the German language and MGIMO has partnership agreements with nine universities in Germany including the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University, Leipzig University and the University of Erfurt. MGIMO carries out joint degree programs with several of these universities as well as student exchanges. The University has been running for several years its German Studies Russia program with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service.

The sides discussed opportunities to expand their cooperation by organizing skills-upgrading programs for MGIMO lecturers at German universities and by looking for new partner universities. Andreas Hoechen thanked his hosts for inviting him to the University and expressed optimism about upcoming.
