November 7th, the English language version of MGIMO’s Vestnik journal, entitled «MGIMO Review of International Relations» was accepted for inclusion in the Web of Science’s Emerging Sources Citation Index. Articles published in the journal will be searchable, discoverable and citable in Web of Science.
Web of Science is a subscription-based scientific citation indexing service, which counts in its Core Collection nine different online databases, one of which is the Emerging Sources Citation Index launched in 2015. Journals accepted for coverage in ESCI must be peer reviewed, follow ethical publishing practices, meet technical requirements, have English language bibliographic information, and be recommended or requested by a scholarly audience of Web of Science users. Being selected for ESCI is, for a relatively new journal, the first step in applying to the Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index and Arts and Humanities Citation Index.
