September 11th-15th, the 30th annual conference and exhibition of the European Association for International Education took place in Geneva.

The plenary session was kicked off by keynote speaker Sally Kohn, a CNN political commentator and public figure, who shared her view of social justice and spoke about the opportunities offered by the globalization of education. Sally Kohn pointed out the need to ensure equal access to education and to fight manifestations of xenophobia and violence. During the conference, participants could attend a variety of round tables, seminars and presentations, make new contacts and discuss the most recent trends in education.

This year MGIMO focused on presenting its dual program in International and Comparative Law, realized with the CIL Platform, a private Swiss educational institute. The visitors showed an interest in MGIMO’s dual Master programs, its English-language undergraduate programs, and in the opportunity to learn Russian. Representatives of different universities expressed the desire to expand their cooperation with MGIMO by creating new Master programs and implementing student exchanges. The First Secretary of the Russian embassy in Switzerland, Stanislav Smirnov, came to MGIMO’s stand on the first day of the exhibition.
