April 19th, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia Banzragchin Delgermaa gave a talk at the University on bilateral relations and the economic situation in Mongolia.
The delegation, consisting of the Ambassador, the First and Second Secretaries of the Embassy and an Advisor, were received by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov. The University’s Vice-Rector for International Programs Andrey Baykov and the Head of the International Office Egor Andreev also attended the meeting. The Rector related to the guests the history of MGIMO, emphasizing the fact that Mongolian citizens were the first foreign students to enroll at MGIMO. The sides mulled over the opportunities to expand cooperation between MGIMO and Mongolian universities.
Upon completion of the meeting, Banzragchin Delgermaa was introduced to an audience of students and Faculty members by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov, who also spoke about some of the outstanding Mongolian MGIMO graduates such as former Prime Minister (2009 to 2012) Batbold Sukhbaatarin. In her speech, the Ambassador touched upon a number of topics: the social and economic development of her country, sustainable development projects, the traditions, culture and history of Mongolia and the country’s relations with Russia and China.
