December 6th, Luca Ceriscioli, the President of the Marche region in Italy came to MGIMO University at the invitation of the School of Government and International Affairs. The guest gave a lecture to students and faculty members and had a meeting with the leadership of the University.

Introducing Luca Ceriscioli to the audience, the Dean of the School of Government and International Affairs, Henry Sardaryan noted the high symbolism of this visit, as eight years ago the School’s international partnerships began with the University of Macerata, which is located in the Marche region. During his presentation, the politician spoke about the difficulties faced by civil servants during their career, the challenges related to implementing regional infrastructure projects, the initiative to popularize the Marche region in Russia, and his efforts to promote international cooperation between regions.

After the lecture, Luca Ceriscioli had an interview with MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov, during which he thanked him for the University’s active collaboration with Italian institutions. Anatoly Torkunov spoke about the mutually beneficial partnership of the School of Government and International Affairs with the University of Macerata. Luca Ceriscioli shared with the Rector his ambitious plans for the development of the Marche region in cooperation with leading Russian corporations.
