April 19th, MGIMO signed a novel cooperation agreement with the Alexander Pushkin Russian State Academic Drama Theater, also known as the Alexandrinsky Theater, Russia’s oldest national playhouse.
During the meeting, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov and the Artistic Director of the Alexandrinsky Theater Valery Fokin discussed the different paths for collaboration: holding joint performances, exhibitions, festivals and master classes on the history of theatrical art.
The first event on the agenda was the lecture delivered by Alexander Chepurov, the Deputy Artistic Director of the Alexandrinsky Theater and Professor at the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts.
In May, MGIMO students will have the unique opportunity to view on the stage of the conference-room the play «Tommy», which was successfully presented at the Golden Mask Festival.
The visiting delegation included representatives of the theatre, R. Dosmukhamedov and I. Kolotyi. The meeting was also attended by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs Artem Malgin, the Vice-Rector for Social Development Igor Loginov and members of the faculty.
