TASS Press Conference Ahead of III Global Forum of Young Diplomats

November 11th, the Press Centre of the Russian news agency TASS organized a press conference devoted to the III Global Forum of Young Diplomats, which will take place from November 13th to 15th.

This year’s Forum has for central theme «Changing the Global World Order» and will take place in Moscow for the first time. The event, held with the support of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry, will assemble over 160 young employees of 85 different foreign ministries and guests of honor such as Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko and the Chair of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

Among those attending the press conference: the Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats K. Kolpakov, the Head Of the Department for the Implementation of Youth Programs and Development of Public Diplomacy of Rossotrudnichestvo V. Solonetsky, the First Vice-Rector of the Diplomatic Academy S. Altunin, and MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources V. Morozov.

K. Kolpakov described the program of for the three-day Forum, noting that a broad discussion on current international issues would be followed up with some fine-tuning of the provisions of the International Association of Young Diplomats’ Charter. The speaker also reminded the audience that during this forum for the first time youth associations of the Foreign Ministries of Russia and the UAE will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.

V. Morozov emphasized the importance of such events, which allow young diplomats to interact and share best practices with their foreign counterparts. «MGIMO and the Diplomatic Academy are the main educational institutions which train Russian diplomatic personnel and they fully support events aimed at reinforcing youth ties in the diplomatic sphere», remarked the Vice-Rector.
