October 23rd, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov received at the University, representatives of the major international audit company KPMG.
The sides spoke about the organization of internships, placements and graduate employment opportunities and went over the finer details of upcoming career and professional guidance events.
Vladimir Morozov underlined the importance of professional orientation for students, starting from their very first years of study. The Vice-Rector spoke about the different mechanisms of interaction between the University and employers, including presentations, lectures, master classes, and MGIMO’s International Career Days, which involve a great number of companies from various fields.
Anton Podshivalov, the Head of the Department for Work with Students and Graduates, and his deputy presented to the guests the specifics of how MGIMO students undergo internships and described the activities of the All-Russian Association of Career Centers, founded by MGIMO in 2018, jointly with other leading Russian universities.
The Head of the KPMG recruiting team A. Zaitseva and her colleague D. Sharova remarked that there are among the company’s employees many MGIMO graduates, making excellent careers. The guests expressed interest in expanding KPMG’s collaboration with MGIMO.
Concluding the meeting, Vladimir Morozov noted that MGIMO’s corporate partners can post materials about their company and vacancies on the information resources of MGIMO’s Career Center. The sides also agreed that KPMG would participate in MGIMO’s International Career Days, scheduled for December 4th and 5th.
