MGIMO and IAEA Sign Cooperation Agreement

December 13th, during a solemn ceremony in Vienna, MGIMO and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) signed a cooperation agreement.

MGIMO was represented at the event by its Vice-Rector for Human Resources V. Morozov and the Head of the Department for Work with Students and Graduates A. Podshivalov. The signing ceremony was attended by A. Karpov, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the International Organizations in Vienna, A. Bychkov, Senior Advisor at the Representative Office, and P. Tsvetov, Second Secretary at the Representative Office.

The Deputy General Director of the IAEA M. Hayward, the Head of the Recruitment Division of the Management Department and the Director of Human Resources of the IAEA Secretariat K. Rozhkov participated in the meeting.

During the visit, the Russian delegation discussed with the IAEA representatives the ways and conditions for organizing internships for MGIMO students at the IAEA. The signed agreement will allow students to undergo placements at the Agency starting from this academic year.

The agreement states that the minimum duration of an internship at the IAEA is three months and that students should be at least 20 years of age and should have completed at least three years of higher education to be eligible. One of the key requirements for interns and IAEA staff is an excellent level of English.

MGIMO continues to develop its interaction with international organizations and has already for partners the UN Information Center, UNDP, UNIDO, FAO, the International Organization for Migration and the World Wide Fund for Nature.
