December 4th, the Vice-President of Haifa University Shira Ben Or and Professor Benny Briskin had a meeting at MGIMO with the Vice-Rector for Graduate and International Programs A. Baykov and the Vice-Rector for Human Resources V. Morozov.
On MGIMO’s side, the meeting was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Master’s Training M. Apanovich, the Deputy Head of the International Office E. Timofeeva and the leading specialist of the International Office D. Chentsova. The meeting took place in the framework of the Cooperation Agreement previously signed by the two universities. The conversation was joined through a videoconference by the Vice-Rector for Research of the University of Haifa, Ido Yitzhaki, and the Head of the Eastern European Department, Shimon Bryman.
During the interview, the guests found out about the history of MGIMO and its main development priorities and programs. The Vice-Rectors also spoke about how Hebrew is taught at MGIMO and the different partnerships the University has with Hebrew counterparts. The sides expressed interest in developing bilateral ties, in particular with the School of International Relations and Diplomacy of the University of Haifa. The guests also mentioned the excellent quality of scientific research in the sphere of International Relations at MGIMO and suggested developing cooperation in research.
As an outcome of the meeting, the sides decided to start working on collaborating on the basis of the dual master’s program in Regional Studies, to implement semester-long student exchanges and promote the mobility of faculty members and researchers.
