March 25th, the 10th International Forum Ecology, held annually under the patronage of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection, opened in Moscow. The aim of the Forum is to support the creation and development of favorable conditions for the improvement of the environment situation in Russia through an inclusive dialogue between the Government, civil society and business.
Among the participants were Sergey Ivanov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on nature protection, environmental and transport issues, Olga Timofeeva the Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma,
Vladimir Burmatov, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection and others.
MGIMO was represented at the event by its Vice-Rector for Legal and Administrative Issues Sergey Shitkov and the Dean of the School of Applied Economics and Commerce Natalia Zagrebelnaya, who gave talks on the impact of the digital economy on how environmental protection is taught. In a separate interview for Russian television, Sergey Shitkov underlined the need to adapt the Russian education system to the needs of a green economy and to develop mechanisms to keep people informed at all levels about their responsibility to protect the environment.,
