February 27th, the Rectors of MGIMO and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) respectively Anatoly Torkunov and Nikolay Kudryavtsev had a meeting during which they discussed the implementation of new joint programs.
The sides reached an agreement on the creation of a Master’s program on «Artificial Intelligence», an idea that had been suggested in 2018 by the ADV Group. Microsoft and NVIDIA also helped design the program at ADV’s request. MIPT teaching staff will participate in training the students of the dual MA and upon graduation students will be awarded diplomas from both universities.
The rectors also mulled over the different options to improve the level of mathematics in MGIMO-Odintsovo’s Business Informatics BA program. The partnership between MGIMO and MIPT began in 2017 when the universities decided to create joint professional development programs and in 2018 the first MBA program on Digital Economy was launched.
