Department of Legal Foundations of Administration

Department of Legal Foundations of Administration of the International Institute of Administration of MGIMO University offers «Legal Regulation of Market Economy» (LLB) and «Corporate Law and Legal Support for International Transactions» (LLM) law degree programmes.

In the implementation of its bachelor’s and master’s programs the Department places a special emphasis on cooperation with leading international and local law firms such as «Clifford Chance», «Liniya Prava», «White & Case», KIAP, «BakerBotts», «Dentons», etc. Expertise in legal English allows our students to cope with a number of disciplines taught in English including «International Tax Law and Planning», «Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in International Transactions», «Contract Formation under Common Law», and some others.

The Department attracts famous legal scholars and professors from the Moscow State University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the Moscow State Law Academy, together with experts from the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Audit Chamber of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, to give lectures to students along with the regular faculty of the International Institute of Administration.

Scientific and research work at the Department of Legal Foundations of Administration focuses on the current issues of law and state theory, comparative constitutional, civil and corporate law. Publications by the Department faculty range from the variety of textbooks and monographs to scientific articles on recent developments in Russian law. The Law Research Laboratory established at the Department is dedicated to conducting scientific and research projects involving students, holding international conferences, master classes and other events designed to gain special knowledge and practical skills in legal profession.
