Department of Demographic and Migration Policy

The Department of Demographic and Migration Policy began its work on August 26, 2017. The need to create the department is due to the increasing importance of demographic and migration problems in the development of modern society. They significantly affect the socio-economic and political stability of Russia and foreign countries.

Lecturers of the Department are actively involved in research activities, implementing projects supported by Russian research funds.

The Department of Demographic and Migration Policy is the first research department in the country in the field of demographic and migration policy. In addition to the traditional educational process and research activities, our Department deals with practical issues of improving demographic and migration policy in the Russian Federation through a broad demonstration of research results.

In 2017/2018 academic year, the Department implemented the following courses, read both in Russian and in English: «Political Aspects of Migration» (master’s program), «International Migration: Political and Economic Aspects» (bachelor’s degree program), «National and International Migration Management Tools» (master’s program), «Basics of regional analysis of demographic and migration processes» (bachelor’s degree program), «Demographic development in Europe and America» (master’s program), «Political Demography» (bachelor’s degree program), «Passport and Visa Diplomacy» (master’s program), «Ethno-demographic processes and economic development» (master’s program), «Management of migration processes» (master’s program), «Ecological aspects of demographic and migration processes» (bachelor’s degree program) and «World labor market and migration» (bachelor’s degree program).
