Sergey Pecheliev started his career in 1986 and joined MGIMO in 2017. He graduated from North-Caucasian Mining and Metallurgical Institute, with a major in Mining and Electrical Engineering.

Throughout his career, he occupied various positions. Among them are General Director of Moscow Cadastral Engineers LLC; General Director of Foreign Trade Metallurgical Company LLC; General Director of Tuimsky Non-Ferrous Metal Processing Plant JSC; Deputy General Director of Vtormet JSC, EvrazHolding-Krasnoyarsk; Production Director of Belinskselmash JSC, MAIR [International Agency for Industrial Development] Group; Deputy General Director of Georgievsky Valve Plant LLC, MAIR [International Agency for Industrial Development] Group; General Director of Alapaevsk Metallurgical Plant JSC, Uraltransgaz; Director of Rezhsky Nickel Plant JSC, Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company.

His area of professional interest includes the work of the Public Administration and Social Security Department of The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (as part of cooperation plan) and the work of Elisavetinskoye Orthodox Society.

Sergey Pecheliev has a number of publications in the field of the development of the Russian metallurgical complex and development of new technological metallurgical processes as well as patents for new metallurgical alloys.

He is fluent in English.
