On September 20, a memorandum of cooperation between MGIMO University and Yeditepe University (Istanbul, Turkey) was formally signed in a remote format.
At the ceremony, MGIMO University was represented by Andrey Baykov, Vice-Rector for Science and Research, and Olga Khotyasheva, Director of the Institute of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, with Yeditepe University represented by Prof. Dr. Canan Aykut Bingöl, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Yeşim Ekinci, Internship Coordinator, Prof. Elif Erişen and Natalya Ketenci, Director of Management Application and Research Center.
The memorandum gave the students doing their Master's degree in Industry Marketing of Goods and Services an opportunity to spend their second year studying Business Administration in Istanbul. This year will see the first 2nd year student doing his master's degree in IMGS, Alexey Tuzov, begin his studies under this joint double diploma program.
Andrey Baykov stressed that Turkey is currently one of the priority areas of international cooperation for MGIMO University, emphasizing its great potential in terms of both exchanges of teachers and students and joint research projects that can be facilitated by the extensive infrastructure of Yeditepe University that includes more than 500 laboratories. Mr Baykov spoke about the history of MGIMO University and added that Turkish has been taught at the University since its foundation, and in recent years this language has become increasingly popular among the students.
Olga Khotyasheva said that Yeditepe University largely shares the MGIMO Institute of Marketing and Entrepreneurship's key features and approaches to the educational process, e.g. industry practices are actively involved in teaching, many subjects are structured according to a modular system, and graduation papers are practical projects. In addition, the educational programs of the Institute of Marketing and Entrepreneurship and Yeditepe University are well compatible in terms of their content and coverage.
Earlier, in June 2022, a delegation from MGIMO University visited Yeditepe University to discuss the establishment of a long-term partnership between universities both through the master's program Industry Marketing of Goods and Services and through the MGIMO Business Incubator.
Yeditepe University is a prestigious university in the Asian part of Istanbul, founded in 1996. Occupying a plot with a total area of 125,000 square meters, the University includes 13 faculties offering 69 bachelor's, 91 master's and 44 doctoral programs, which together train more than 17,000 students. The programs cover a wide range of educational areas, including humanities and natural sciences, medicine and healthcare, fine arts, economics and law, communications, architecture, cybernetics and information technology.
The possibility of completing the second year of study abroad has been one of the important advantages of the Industry Marketing of Goods and Services program from the very moment of its foundation. So, for eight years, dozens of IMGS graduates have become holders of a double diploma of MGIMO University and leading foreign universities, e.g. Henley Business School (UK), Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland), ESCP and Rennes School of Business (France), Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches International School of Hotel Management (Switzerland).
