December 15th to 18th, a group of MGIMO students from the School of Applied Economics and Commerce specializing in Environmental Studies, led by their Dean Natalia Zagrebelnaya and the University’s Vice-Rector for Legal and Administrative Issues Sergei Shitkov, visited the city of Baikonur and its Cosmodrome.
During their trip, the students attended meetings with representatives of the city’s administration and of the Cosmodrome, and took part in some practical exercises aimed at preparing astronauts for their upcoming space expedition.
The spacecraft «Soyuz» took off on December 17th with on board Anton Shkaplerov of the Russian Federal Space Agency, Scott Tingle from NASA and Norishige Kanai from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
