24 May 2018

May 24th, a videoconference was organized with the participation of the management of the Moldova Institute of International Relations and MGIMO.

In his opening words, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Human Resources Vladimir Morozov welcomed the guests and spoke about the University’s history and current priorities for development. The Vice-Rector remarked that MGIMO keeps expanding its cooperation with foreign universities, launching new dual degrees with prestigious universities in France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, the USA, China and other countries, and does that in spite of the difficult international context, which confirms MGIMO’s excellent reputation abroad.

The Dean of the Faculty of International Economic Relations at MGIMO, Oleg Pichkov, greeted the meeting participants from Moldova and considered the different possible paths for cooperation between the two universities. Plans were made to carry out joint scientific research and to create dual training programs.

In following, the Vice-Rector for Research at the Moldova Institute for International Relations expressed a keen interest in developing programs of joint research and offered to involve the CIS scientific foundation in the implementation of these new projects. The Vice-Rector also remarked that during their visit to MGIMO in April, the delegation from the Moldova Institute for International Relations had been impressed by the University’s library. The Moldovan side expressed gratitude for their kind reception on that occasion and their willingness to expand cooperation and to jointly create online educational programs to study foreign languages.
