March 23rd–24th, the VI Inter Eco Forum, organized with the support of the Russian Association of the United Nations and MGIMO, was held in Marbella.
The event featured 20 top managers from the public and business sectors and attracted around 100 participants from Spain, Russia, Poland, Belgium, Latvia, Azerbaijan and Italy. A number of international organizations were represented at the forum, including the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
The Forum started with a conference in which MGIMO experts presented interesting projects to their Spanish colleagues. The participants discussed examples of successful ecological rehabilitation projects and reviewed issues relating to the rational use of natural resources in international ecological tourism.
In the evening, the guests attended a presentation of the new master’s program «International Policies and Global Politics», implemented jointly by MGIMO and the International University Center of Marbella (MIUC). During the event, the Director of the dual master’s program, Ekaterina Torkunova highlighted the educational priorities of the course and noted that while MGIMO has a vast number of international partner universities, this is the first time it has its own outpost abroad.
The second day of the Forum was dedicated to the medical tourism sector. Inter Eco Forum once again proved to be a dynamic platform for meetings between firms eager to enhance relations between Spain, Russia and other countries.
