On October 17, MGIMO University Rector Anatoly Torkunov, Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy Valery Salygin and Vice President for HR and Social Affairs, Director of HR Department of PJSC Oil Company Rosneft Natalia Mincheva met with the administration of Tsinghua University.
Tsinghua University was represented at the meeting by Vice-President for International Affairs, Director of the Institute of Russia Wang Hongwei, Chair of the Department of International Relations Tang Xiaoyang, Chair of the Department of Energy and Power Engineering Xu Ruina and others.
The meeting focused on the issues of further implementation of the cooperation agreement on training and the agreement on the joint implementation of the MBA program International Oil and Gas Business in the interests of Rosneft.
During the negotiations, Anatoly Torkunov proposed to organize a joint double master's degree in alternative energy and sustainable development.
The MGIMO Rector also made a proposal to hold a conference in Moscow in March–April 2024 on Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of breakthrough technologies and their application in the management of oil and gas companies and in the industry as a whole. The conference is expected to consider promising joint projects in such topical areas as the development and introduction of algorithms for digital transformation of fuel and energy industry facilities, hydrogen energy, low-carbon energy, quantum technologies and quantum communications, neural networks and artificial intelligence technologies for optimizing business processes in the oil and gas sector, the introduction of information modeling systems, smart networks and digital transformation of electric grids, etc.
MGIMO University's proposals were fully supported by Tsinghua University.
