MGIMO at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum

May 24th, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2018, which brings together leaders to discuss current economic and financial issues, started its work. A large delegation from France, led by the country’s president Emmanuel Macron, will be participating in the event. The French president will address guests on May 25th at the plenary session.

Franco-Russian relations will be discussed during the Trianon Dialogue events scheduled for May 25th: a meeting of the Presidents of Russia and France with business representatives of both countries (Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and MEDEF), with members of the Coordinating Council of the Trianon Dialogue, and a panel session on the «City of the Future».

That same day, the co-chairmen of the forum, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov and Ambassador Pierre Morel will participate in a panel dedicated to the future of education and the knowledge economy. Guests will also attend a presentation of the new digital platform of the Trianon dialogue.

MGIMO will be represented on several stands, next to its partner Rosgeologia, in the Moscow region section and in the pavilion of France because of its role in the Trianon Dialogue. MGIMO also has plans to sign, in the framework of the conference, a number of cooperation agreements with corporations and Russian regions.

The International Youth Economic Forum, co-organized by MGIMO, will take place on May 26th. MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov and Ambassador Pierre Morel will moderate a discussion on global responsibility, which will be attended by MGIMO students and members of the French community.
