On November 15th, the Embassy of Mongolia hosted the state awards ceremony.
The MGIMO Rector and Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Torkunov received the Order of the Polar Star, the highest state award in Mongolia, for the valuable contribution to the development of bilateral relations between Mongolia and the Russian Federation.
The award was presented to Rector Torkunov by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Russia Dulamsuren Davaa.
The Order of the Polar Star was established in 1936. It has been granted to individuals who have achieved great progress in the economy, culture and health care of the Mongolian People’s Republic. Since 1992, it has been the highest award in Mongolia.
