September 15th, an extraordinary plenary meeting of the Civic Chamber of the Moscow Region took place at MGIMO’s Odintsovo campus. The agenda of the meeting was to elect a new Chairman for the Chamber. The Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov presented the candidacy of Anatoly Torkunov, MGIMO Rector, underlining his irreproachable past record in supervising and organizing political, educational and social activities.
The Governor described to the audience Anatoly Torkunov’s contribution to the development of academic programs of all levels in the Moscow Region and the initiatives he took to solve social and economic challenges. Andrey Vorobyov also emphasized the Rector’s role in improving communication and cooperation between public organizations in Moscow and in the regions.
The candidacy of Anatoly Torkunov was unanimously approved by the members of Moscow Region Civic Chamber.
