The President of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, at the suggestion of the Embassy of Italy in Russia, decided to award to MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov the Order of the Star of Italy.
October 9th, during a solemn ceremony at the Italian Embassy in Moscow, Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano presented Anatoly Torkunov with the Decree signed by the President of Italy and the honorific sign of the order. The ceremony was attended by high-level representatives of the Russian foreign policy community.
The Order of the Star of Italy was established in 2011 and recognizes special merit in the promotion of сooperation between Italy and other countries.
