200 Hundred Economists Gather at MGIMO

April 5th, the third readings named after Professor Liventsev and devoted to the «Transformation of the System of Modern International Economic Relations in Post-bipolarity» unfolded at MGIMO. Professor Nikolai Nikolayevich Liventsev (1937–2016) was an eminent economist who for many years headed the School of International Economic Relations

This year the event attracted more than two hundred participants from Russia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, China, and Slovakia. MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Economic Matters Natalia Kuzmina, the Dean of the School of International Economic Relations, Oleg Pichkov, and several faculty members welcomed the guests and wished them productive work at the conference.

During the plenary session, reports were made on a myriad of topics including: the dedollarization of Russia’s foreign trade, global climate change, low emission development strategies and their implications for Russia, globalization and challenges to national economies, new trends in globalization and others. After the plenary session, the work of the conference was divided into twelve thematic sections during which reports on international economic relations were presented and discussed.
