May 22nd, MGIMO hosted the Second Stolypin Forum «Strategies for Russia» and for the first time the opening session was held outdoors.
The event was kicked off by Boris Titov, the Head of the Department of Corporate and Project Management at MGIMO also Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs’ Rights, who remarked that young entrepreneurs have become major players in business: «Their new ideas, energy and drive determine how the economy will evolve, and this is why the first session of the forum is devoted to their ideas and problems».
A number of representatives of business and governmental structures participated in the discussions including Alexey Komissarov, Director General of the non-profit organization «Russia — Country of Opportunities», Alexander Kalinin, President of the Opora Russia Organization of Small and Medium-Sized Business, Milena Arslanova, Director of the Investment Policy and Entrepreneurship Development Department at the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Stanislav Bliznyuk, Deputy Chairman of the board of Tinkoff Bank, Ayaz Shabutdinov, Founder of «Like», Eugene Larionov, General Director of «Experum», Petr Osipov, Founder of «Business Youth» and the Deputy Director of «Business Environment» A. Grishchenko. The CEO of «Black Star» Pavel Kuryanov moderated the session.
The panel discussions on the first day were dedicated to the «economics of simple things», the legal aspects of entrepreneurship, and to several business cases concerning the restaurant, tourist and medical services industries.
In the course of two days, over 5 000 guests, 200 speakers and 100 representatives of the media will attend the Stolypin Forum. The event was set up by the Pavel Stolypin Institute for the Economy of Growth and MGIMO, with the support of Rostec. TASS was the general information partner of the Forum.
