Startup Village Livestream’20 Online Conference

May 21st -22nd, the major international virtual technology conference Startup Village Livestream’20 was held online.

The latest technologies enabled 30 thousand people to connect to the sessions, lectures and discussions, discuss live different topics with the speakers and other participants. Over 300 global experts, heads of large corporations and more than 1000 investors gathered for the conference. 4500 startups presented their ideas to experts in the field of technology and business development and had the opportunity to attract investors and business partners.

One of the popular events of the business program was the discussion “On the Top of the World. How companies use innovations to conquer the world” which had for speakers the Deputy Chairman of the Gazprombank Board and Professor at the Gazprombank Department of MGIMO MIEP D.Zauers, the President and Chairman of the Board of MTS A.Korni, the General Director of Lenta G.Tinga and the Director of Global Innovation at Cisco Systems G.Didrich. The discussion was moderated by the Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation A.Dvorkovich.

The Head of the Department of Innovation Management, M.Rybin and students of the University who are members of the Innovation Club of MIEP MGIMO, actively contributed to the Startup Village Livestream’20 online conference and to the discussion on “How companies use innovation to conquer the world”.

Members of the Innovation Club expressed their views and ideas on the online chat. Some of the main ideas were that in the current environment, corporations need to find a new way of doing business, they should create new business models, reinforce their internal creative potential and attract external innovations. The world's largest corporations are those, which have developed with new technologies and conquered markets that did not exist three decades ago. A company's capacity for innovation determines to a great extent its likelihood of success.

Through their participation in the conference, MGIMO students learnt about how large Russian and foreign corporations integrate new ideas into their business processes. They also had the opportunity to discuss with well-known experts the main innovation trends of 2020.
