September 1st, the students, faculty members and management of the University celebrated the opening of a new academic year at MGIMO’s Odintsovo campus.
The University’s Rector Anatoly Torkunov congratulated students on this important occasion and wished them success in their studies, all the while noting the benefits of receiving a high quality education like the one delivered by MGIMO. The Rector emphasized the role the younger generation will be playing in ten to fifteen years and their contribution to Russia’s future development. Anatoly Torkunov also remarked that the infrastructure of the Odintsovo campus met international standards and had become attractive to applicants from all over Russia and abroad.
The Head of the Odintsovo municipal district, Andrei Ivanov, extended his congratulations to the students and their parents and expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the University.
The Director of MGIMO Odintsovo Sergey Vasiliev, the Deputy Director for Languages Irina Mazaeva, the Director of Pre-University Training Marina Vorobyeva, and the Director of the Gorchakov lyceum Roman Kotov, together with members of the faculty shared with the audience the latest news on the life of the University, spoke about the opportunities to undergo placements and about graduates’ career prospects.
The talk was followed by a concert with performances by the orchestra of the Military University and MGIMO students.
