On June 6th a panel of the Sochi Dialogue, an Austrian-Russian civil society forum, took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The topic for the session was «the Economy of Culture».
The co-chairs of the Sochi Dialogue the Aide to the Russian President Andrey Fursenko and the Honorary President of the Austrian Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl, the Director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts Marina Loshak, the General Director of the State Tretyakov Gallery Zelfira Tregulova, the General Director of the Vienna Museum of Art History Sabine Haag, the Director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Moscow Simon Mraz, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Moscow State University Alexander Auzan participated in the panel. The discussion was moderated by Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Special Representative of the Russian President for International Cultural Cooperation.
The participants discussed the importance of business in developing culture and the influence that culture exerts on business, the ways how the dialogue of culture can improve the cooperation between national economies and contribute to their growth.
The co-chair of the Sochi Dialogue Christoph Leitl also visited Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, where he met with the Rector Andrey Rudskoy and gave a lecture on «Vectors of International Economic Development» for the students of the university.
