June 23rd, MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Research E.Kozhokin welcomed the Ambassador of Pakistan Shafqat Ali Khan and the Deputy Head of Mission Muhammad Aftab Chaudhri.
The sides exchanged opinions on the role of diplomacy, the need to further develop cooperation in science and education between Russia and Pakistan, the ways in which the United States and China exert their influence on the international stage and the different perceptions of state independence in the modern world.
Shafqat Ali Khan also showed an interest in the history of the University and noted the high level of training of students. The Ambassador expressed the desire to deepen cooperation between MGIMO and the universities of Pakistan, to restart exchanges of students allowing them to improve their language skills and train in Russia to be career diplomats and international journalists.
