MGIMO Co-Organizes Seminar for Administrative Managers of Moscow Region

24 June 2017

June 23rd and 24th, a seminar on «The Use of Project Management Principles in the Public Sector» took place at Sberbank Corporate University. The course was attended by Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Districts of the Moscow Region. The event was kicked off by the Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov and by the CEO of Sberbank, Herman Gref.

MGIMO was responsible for the organization of one of the discussion sessions. Two guests, invited by the University and the Embassy of Israel, the Deputy Mayor of Sderot Mark Ifraimov and the Deputy Mayor of Nazareth-Illit, Alex Gadalkin spoke about the implementation of innovative techniques in municipal management, sharing their personal experience of such projects. The discussion was moderated by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Artem Malgin.

Alex Gadalkin also noted in a conversation with journalists that since his last trip to Moscow Region, four years ago, everything seems to have become much cleaner and the streets are well lit up, two things, which have a key impact on how a resident perceives his town and the work performed by city officials. On the second day of the seminar, participants presented their own personal vision of municipal project management.
