MGIMO Rector Reviews Results of XIX World Festival of Youth and Students

November 23rd, MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov had a meeting with the Head of the Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students Ksenia Razuvaeva, which was also attended by MGIMO’s Vice-Rector for Social Development Igor Loginov, faculty members and students of the University who participated in the organization of the WFYS.

Anatoly Torkunov started by greeting the team and noted that the international event was very well prepared and met the highest standards. The Rector also underlined MGIMO’s contribution to the preparation of the WFYS and the active role played by the University’s volunteers. Anatoly Torkunov shared his impressions of the Festival and noted how useful such a platform is to convey the right image of Russia abroad.

Ksenia Razuvaeva extended her thanks Anatoly Torkunov, Igor Loginov and the whole MGIMO team for their huge contribution to the work of the WFYS and expressed the desire to soon cooperate again in the realization of upcoming projects. Ksenia Razuvaeva gave the University some souvenirs with symbols of the Festival, which are to be displayed in a dedicated exposition within the University’s History Museum.

The XIX World Festival of Youth and Students unfolded in Moscow and Sochi from October 14th to 22nd and was one of the largest international youth events to be held in history. The event gathered over 25 thousand young people, 5 thousand volunteers and over 3 thousand speakers.
