December 13th, the Italian Ambassador to Russia Pasquale Terracciano came to MGIMO to deliver a lecture to students of the University and meet with its Rector Anatoly Torkunov.
The guest was greeted by the Dean of the School of Government and Politics Henry Sardaryan, who thanked the Italian Ambassador for agreeing to talk to the University’s students. The Dean also underlined that the School of Government and Politics is rapidly expanding its cooperation with Italian universities and that six dual Masters’ degrees have been implemented with universities in Pisa, Florence, Macerata, Rome and Sardinia.
During his lecture, Pasquale Terracciano focused on the historical region of the Mediterranean, relating its history and describing the different stages of its development. The Ambassador also spoke about bilateral relations and the specificities of a career in the diplomatic sphere. After his talk, Pasquale Terracciano took questions from the audience.
After that, the Italian Ambassador was received by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov, who emphasized the benefits of strengthening relations with Italy and shared with the guest MGIMO’s plans to create dual undergraduate programs with Italian universities.
